Who I am.

I am a self-taught calligraphy artist and instructor. I have been writing since I was 5 and have been in love with putting ink to paper ever since. Writing is my passion and love.

My writing has led me to become an international calligraphy instructor. I have taught several times in different cities throughout India and Sydney, Australia. I have also taught in various locations in the USA. I continuously schedule courses in Hawai’i throughout the year.

I am a wife of 30+ years, a mother of 2 and a new grandmother of a 6 month old! Since my granddaughter doesn’t live in Hawai’i, I travel back and forth to California to see her.

I am also a 30+ year veteran of cardmaking.

My “real” full-time job is at a local high school. It’s a brand new job for me but I’ve been with the Hawai’i Department of Education for over 15 years.

Animals have a special place in my heart as well. I have dogs, cats and I also breed and raise show pigeons. My family and I also do bird releases for special occasions like graduations, birthday parties, funerals and weddings. Please check out Mike and Cyn's Family Bird Release to see some pictures and information.

I have never taken a writing/calligraphy class so all the scripts and styles you see is what I have learned on my own. I hope to become proficient in Spencerian Script, Engrosser’s Script and Business Writing. Having been to the IAMPETH Convention twice, it makes me want to strive for this. My dream is to also become an American Cursive Instructor and to bring back cursive to the classroom.
